PRINCIPAL MIDDLE SCHOOL

Leah Knaeble is the Principal of Desert Shadows Middle School. She is a resource for others and works directly with students, teachers, staff, and the community to provide an engaging and welcoming school atmosphere. She is responsible for supporting academic achievement, enforcing policies and procedures, as well as school safety.

Before being named as a Principal, Leah Knaeble worked as a Teacher, Ombudsman, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal all within PVSchools. While working in these varied roles, Leah Knaeble has been consistently known for her clear communication style, ability to collaborate with others, and a dedication to student success.

Prior to working in PVSchools, Leah Knaeble, worked as a supervisor for area resorts while pursuing and using her degree in Global Business with an emphasis in Marketing. Leah Knaeble also spent time in the Phoenix area working in various law firms as an assistant.

Leah Knaeble is a graduate of Shadow Mountain High School and has raised her children in PVSchools. She is excited to welcome you to the Desert Shadows Middle School Community!

Shawn Bell is the Assistant Principal of Desert Shadows Middle School. She works directly with students, teachers, staff, and the community to provide an engaging and welcoming school atmosphere. She is responsible for supporting academic achievement, enforcing policies and procedures, as well as school safety and climate.

Before being named the Assistant  Principal, Shawn Bell developed roots on the DSMS campus for many years. She has worked as an English teacher, Dean of Students, softball coach, and Athletic Director. Mrs. Bell is proud to be part of a strong school community that focuses on the growth and development of all our students. 

Prior to working in the Paradise Valley Unified School District, Shawn Bell worked in the Scottsdale Unified School District as an ELA teacher and softball coach. 

Mrs. Bell has a long history with PVSchools. She is also a graduate of Desert Shadows Middle School and has also raised her own children in PVSchools. Mrs. Bell is thrilled to be at DSMS and welcomes you to not only be a part of this school community but sincerely offers you the opportunity to share many memorable experiences in the years to come.
