Hello DSMS Families,
This year, I am primarily working with 7th grade students. I have been a school counselor at Desert Shadows for 12 years. I am originally from Wisconsin and earned my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Alaska. After that, I relocated to Arizona and earned a master's degree in educational counseling through the University of Phoenix. My husband and I have a wonderful 15-year-old son, a German shepherd, and a Golden doodle.

I can't wait to get started on my second year at DSMS as one of the 8th Grade Counselors. Before I joined the DSMS Counseling Team, I was an elementary school teacher. I attended Grand Canyon University for my undergraduate degree and went on and received a master in education in guidance and counseling from Angelo State University. When I am not with my amazing students, I enjoy spending time with my husband, baby boy and our dog Hobbes. I look forward to a great year as a Sidewinder!

It is my pleasure to be an 8th Grade Counselor this year along with Mrs. Cooper. This is my 6th year as a school counselor at Desert Shadows. Previously, I was a high school counselor and English teacher. I love working with students and really feel at home here at DSMS! I am blessed to have meaningful work, an amazing family (and dog!) and beautiful mountains to hike here in Arizona. When I am not in Arizona, you will probably find me on a lake in the Midwest.
